Description
Original Antique Native American Indian Plaque Tobacco Sign. Shows an Indian Chief or Warrior with his tobacco pipe. Early 1900s to 1940s. Very Heavy Hand and Substantial Carved Wood; unsure of wood type, maybe mahogany. Expert caving with lots of details—see photos. Measures 22” high x 17″ wide x 2 1/2” thick. Highly detailed carving on hair and necklace. Only damage or condition issue I see are some small chipping to a couple of the feather necklace tips, but no big deal to the overall appearance of this master carving. Nonetheless a work of art in wood carving. Also, there is no signature or mark to identify who carved this piece.
